A Season for Giving at Buffalo State

While the temperature continues to fluctuate in Buffalo, the holiday spirit is peaking at Buffalo State through acts of benevolence from different campus groups.

On December 3, Buffalo State students and faculty members took the “Polar Plunge” into the cold waters at Woodland Beach State Park to support the athletes of Special Olympics New York. The team raised more than $5,000 for the cause.

The African American Student Organization, Black Active Minds, and the Pan African Student Organization invited members of the campus community to a Kwanzaa dinner in the Campbell Student Union Assembly Hall on December 9.

Throughout December, members of the Lambda Upsilon Lambda fraternity organized a toy drive for underprivileged children in the community. After the toys were collected, one member of the fraternity dressed as Santa to deliver the gifts to the children.

With food, gifts, and selfless dives into icy waters, these students and faculty have truly captured the essence of the season.
