Three Buffalo State softball players were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Northeast Region Teams, led by senior outfielder Nadine Sirianni (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) who earned First Team honors. Lindsey Matheis (Hamburg/Williamsville South) and Emily Goldyn (Lancaster/Lancaster) were each selected to the Third Team.

Sirianni, also a four-time All-SUNYAC honoree, earns the honor for the second-consecutive season. She was the first Bengal to hit over .400 since 1999, leading this year's team with a .418 batting average. She also led the Bengals with eight doubles and 31 RBIs. A health and wellness major, started every game in centerfield and added two triples and two homeruns.

Matheis, a junior health and wellness major, is an outstanding defensive catcher who threw out 10 runners on 27 stolen base attempts. At the plate, she hit .239 with four doubles, 16 runs scored and nine RBIs.

Goldyn played in all 40 games, primarily as a designated player. She hit .288 with four doubles, four triples and 25 RBIs. A sophomore secondary English education major, Goldyn was a First Team selection last season.

Buffalo State matched its highest win total since 2000, finishing with a 29-11 overall record. The Bengals placed fifth in the SUNYAC and went 2-2 in the double elimination conference championship last weekend.
