Skidmore Blanks Women's Soccer, 1-0
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY--Skidmore (1-1) controlled play from the outset and handed Buffalo State (1-1) its first loss of the season, 1-0, today at the Skidmore Classic.
Skidmore netted the games only goal in the eighth minute and hung on for the one-goal victory. Skidmore outshot the Bengals 29-5 and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) made two saves and allowed the goal in the first half, and Meghan Jarrell (Hamburg/Hamburg) made six saves in shutout relief over the final 45 minutes.
Buffalo State will travel to RIT on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. start.
