Men's soccer goalkeeper Shawn McDonell (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) was named Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.

McDonell helped keep the Bengals' postseason hopes alive as he made nine saves including a stop on a penalty kick in a 2-1 victory at Oswego on Saturday. The freshman also made 12 saves in a loss at Cortland on Friday.

McDonell and the Bengals need to win or tie on Wednesday at Fredonia to clinch their first SUNYAC playoff berth since 1998.
