Softball Bombs Oswego to Sweep Twin Bill

OSWEGO, NY--Buffalo State (16-4/6-2) plated 15 runs in just 11 offensive innings in a two game sweep at Oswego (3-10/0-4) today, winning 7-1 and 8-0 in five innings.

Buffalo State road the arm of Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) to victory in the opener, as she allowed just four hits and had eight strikeouts in the 7-1 victory. Lauren Mruk (Lancaster/Lancaster) was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, and Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs.

In the second game, Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) tossed the five-inning shutout, surrendering only four hits with three strikeouts. Jolene Banach was 2 for 3 with a third-inning homerun and four RBIs. Twin sister Jordan Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was also 2 for 3 with a three-run homer in the same inning as her sister.

Buffalo State will host the University of Rochester in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
