Softball Cruises to Sweep at Morrisville
MORRISVILLE, NY—Buffalo State (23-13/14-6) breezed to a twin killing today at Morrisville State (5-28/1-19), winning 10-0 and 8-0 in six innings.
Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/ Frontier) tossed her fourth shutout of the season, allowing just three hits, and helped herself at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs in the opener. Arielle Austin (Smithtown/ Smithtown West) was 3 for 5 with an RBI, and Carly Lopez (Oriskany/ Oriskany) was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/ Williamsville North) earned the win in the second game, allowing just one hit in five innings of work before Danielle Gaimari (N. Syracuse/ CNS) closed the game with an inning of scoreless relief. Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/ Maryvale) was 2 for 2 with an RBI, and twin sister Jordan Banach (Cheektowaga/ Maryvale) had a triple and an RBI. Christina Tschari (Clarence/ Clarence) was 2 for 3 with three RBIs.
Buffalo State will close out the SUNYAC regular season tomorrow with a pair of games at SUNYIT.
