Softball Defeats Oshkosh, Falls to St. Michael's

Buffalo State continued its training trip in Ft. Myers, FL today, defeating Wisconsin-Oshkosh 10-3, before falling to Division II St. Michael's (VT) 8-3 in the nightcap.

Buffalo State exploded for 12 hits and 10 runs in the opener. Nadine Sirianni (Niagara Falls) was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Lindsey Matheis (Hamburg) was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. Liz Beiter (N. Tonawanda) recorded the win on the mound, scattering eight hits, before Kristen Scheffold (Lancaster) came on in relief for the final two outs.

In the loss to St. Michael's, Nicole Willats (Sweet Home) was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBI. Melissa Balsavage (Depew) took the loss on the mound, allowing 12 hits.

The Bengals are 3-3 and will face New England College tomorrow at 11 a.m. and Southern Maine at 1 p.m.
