St. John Fisher Surges Past Women’s Basketball, 64-49
BUFFALO, NY—St. John Fisher (2-1) used a 25-8 run at the start of the second half to catapult itself to a 64-49 victory over host Buffalo State (1-2) in a non-conference game tonight at the Sports Arena.
Alyssa Kinney (Medford/Bellport) and Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) led Buffalo State with 12 points each. Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) added 10 points, and Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) had eight points and three assists.
Buffalo State jumped out to an early 11-2 lead and held onto a 33-27 lead at the intermission. The Cardinals responded, however, outscoring the Bengals, 37-16, in the second half.
Buffalo State will next play at Nazareth next Tuesday.
