The Stars of Summer

Many times, families struggle with something to do during the summer. Some movies may be too violent and large crowds may be intimidating. Sometimes the weather is uncooperative. For families facing this situation, the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium on the campus of Buffalo State College offers a cool solution.

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium presents its summer public schedule for families and groups of all ages. "The Stars of the Summer," is a live presentation where participants will learn the location of many of the summer constellations, stars, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, planets and their moons. After a short break, the planetarium staff will offer an additional program called "Midsummer's Meteor Showers." Upcoming meter showers with tips for the best way to view then will be presented.

Following the program, weather permitting, the staff will present an opportunity to view the night sky first-hand through our portable telescopes.

The programs will run on Friday evenings only at 7:30 pm, beginning July 13 and ending on August 17, 2007.

Tickets are $5.00 per person (all Ages). Tickets are sold at the door beginning at 7:00pm. Inquires can be made by contacting Mr. Arthur Gielow at (716) 878-4911.
