A new schedule of readings from students in Buffalo State's writing major has been announced. The series will kick off Thursday, February 24, at 4:00 p.m. in Ketchum Hall 418. Additional readings will take place March 10, March 24, April 7, April 21, and May 5.

The series provides writing students with a valuable opportunity—to present their written material to a live audience.

"The audience will hear students showcase their finest works of poetry, nonfiction, and fiction," said Kim Chinquee, assistant professor of English and series coordinator.

While the writing major features classes in creative writing, it is not exclusively focused on the genre. Other concentrations include professional writing, journalism, and literary nonfiction.

"We have one of the most unique writing majors in the country," said Chinquee. "It allows students to diversify, and also hone in on their specializations of choice."
