Student Research and Creativity Conference: May 3-4

The 21st annual Student Research and Creativity Conference (SRCC) will take place Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4.

One of Buffalo State’s great traditions, the SRCC allows undergraduate and graduate students in all academic disciplines to present their preliminary and completed research and creative activities in a student-friendly, supportive environment.

"Participation in research, scholarship, and other creative activities is an incredibly important and meaningful component of many of our students' education," said Scott Goodman, professor of chemistry and director of undergraduate research. "These activities help students to understand how scholarship is conducted within their disciplines while powerfully reinforcing concepts they have previously encountered in our classrooms, studios, and labs."

This year’s celebration includes 255 presentations, performances, and art exhibitions that feature the work of more than 340 Buffalo State students. More than 100 faculty members are serving as mentors.

An opening reception will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday in Caudell Hall. Research papers and poster sessions will be presented Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Caudell Hall’s Statler Wing. Oral presentations will be divided by academic groupings into six sessions throughout the day on Saturday in Caudell Hall 208, 209, and 222. Seven hour-long poster sessions, each with a diverse representation of disciplines, will take place concurrently with the oral presentations.
