Buffalo State’s United Students Government (USG) and the Fashion Students Association (FSA) organized a fashion show on October 13 that raised $2,000 for breast cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The Power of Pink Breast Cancer Fashion Show featured 60 Buffalo State models donning the clothing designs of 10 students in a two-hour show in the Campbell Student Union.

“This is an event that USG sponsored my freshman year, and I wanted to repeat it,” said Nikita Singh, USG executive vice president. “Our initial goal was $2,000 and I am very excited that we made it.”

The event also included a dance performance and a student singer who wrote a song about losing his mother to breast cancer.

“Overall, the Power of Pink went really well,” said Singh.

Along with USG and FSA, the fundraiser was sponsored by Biore, Chartwells, the Equity and Campus Diversity Office, Morton Lane Federal Credit Union, and High Klass Hair.
