The Buffalo State College Literacy Center will offer a summer program designed for children needing extra help with reading or writing.

In the first phase of the program, held on the campus at 1300 Elmwood Ave., participants in the program will receive a full reading diagnosis, along with individual tutoring and instruction based on need as indicated from the diagnostic study. In the second phase, held off campus, students are placed in small multi-age groups to work on literacy skills, including word study, fluency, comprehension and writing.

Applications can be obtained by calling the Literacy Center at (716) 878-5917.

The program will continue in the fall.
