Swimmer Warner and Track & Field Athlete Gedraitis

Swimmer Miranda Warner (Elmira/Horseheads) and track and field athlete Sarah Gedraitis (Lockport/Akron) were named Buffalo State Co-Athletes of the Week.

Warner, a freshman fashion technology major, set a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking 1:03.84 in Saturday's dual meet against Oswego. The previous record was 1:04.17, set by Ashley Myers in 2003. Warner and the Bengals have on meet remaining before competing in the SUNYAC Championships at the Erie Community College Flickinger Center on Feb. 7-10.

Gedraitis, a senior majoring in speech and language pathology, also had a record-setting performance on Saturday. She eclipsed her own record in the 20-lb. weight throw, registering a throw of 13.00 meters. The previous mark was 11.92 meters.
