Swimming and Diving Competes at Grove City

Buffalo State’s swimming and diving teams competed at the Grove City Invitational this weekend with the men placing ninth of nine teams with 153 points, while the women finished seventh of 10 with 203 points.

On the men’s side, Bret Stodolka (Darien/Alexander) claimed second on both boards with a mark of 209.5 on the 3-meter and 221.80 on the 1-meter. Eric Hastings (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant) placed seventh in the 1650-free in 18:41.27.

Top finishes on the women’s side included Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Amanda Dory (Amherst/Sweet Home) in the diving events. Rutkowski took third with 204.65 on the 1-meter board and fourth on the 3-meter board with 195.10, while Dory was fourth with 198.5 on the 1-meter and fifth on the 3-meter with 187.65. Sara Weinert (S. Byron/Byron-Bergen) finished fifth in the 1650-free in 19:08.54, and also took fifth in the 500-free in 5:28.87.

Buffalo State will travel to Florida for its annual training trip from January 2 through 9.
