Swimming and Diving Hosts SUNYAC-Rival Oswego

Buffalo State hosted SUNYAC-foe Oswego today in a dual meet at Kissinger Pool. The men lost to the Lakers, 113-95, and the women were defeated, 117-100.

On the men's side, two Bengals earned individual victories. Derek Stoklosa (W. Seneca/W. Seneca West) touched first in the 200 free in 1:55.71. Eric Hastings (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant) earned the other win, placing first in the 500 free in 5:10.33.

Freshman Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) highlighted the women's docket once again. Rutkowski swept both rounds of the three-meter diving competition, and posted an NCAA provisional qualifying score with an 11-dive mark of 430.65. Sara Weinert (S. Byron/Byron-Bergen) earned a win in the 1650 free (19:05.92), Marie Ryer (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) won the 100 free (58.02), and Mindy Wood (Middlesex/Marcus Whitman) captured first in the 500 free (5:41.96).

Buffalo State's men slipped to 3-4, while the women dropped to 2-6. The Bengals will host their final dual meet of the season next Saturday against Brockport at 1 p.m.
