Swimming and Diving Opens Season With Losses to Geneseo
Buffalo State opened its swimming and diving seasons today at home against the defending SUNYAC Champions from Geneseo, and the men fell 129-81 and the women lost 125.5-109.5.
The highlight of the day was a first place finish in the women's one-meter dive by freshman Nicole Rutkowski (Vanica, FL/Williamsville North) with a new Buffalo State record score of 231.60. The old mark was 230.85 by Michelle Gustafson in 1990. Freshman Katie Perusich (Kenmore/Kenmore East) also turned in a strong showing, as she won the women's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:25.71.
Buffalo State will host Canisius this Friday at 5 p.m.
