Swimming and Diving Wraps Up Opening Day at North Country Invitational

After the opening day of the four-team North Country Invitational in Potsdam, Buffalo State's men are currently in third place with 217 points, and the women are in second with 270 points.

On the men's side, Rich Gaczewski (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) touched first in the 500 free in 5:19.53. Dave Papke (Woodlawn/St. Francis) won the 100 breast (1:04.47) and touched second in the 200 IM (2:09.90).

Sara Weinert (S. Byron/Byron-Bergen) paced the women, claiming the 500 free (5:41.39) and taking second in the 1650 free (18:57.88). Amanda Dory (Amherst/Sweet Home) won the three-meter diving competition with a score of 220.70.

The meet will conclude tomorrow with the first event starting at 9 a.m.
