Swimming & Diving Competes at Grove City Invite
GROVE CITY, Pa.—Buffalo State wrapped up competition today at the Grove City Longnecker Swimming & Diving Invitational today, with the men placing fifth of eight teams, and the women finishing seventh of nine.
Kevin Buisman (Penfield/Penfield) had the top finish on the men’s side, touching fourth in the 400 individual medley in 4:40.14 and sixth in the 200 breast in 2:23.74. Chris Steinert (Lakeview/Frontier) was also fourth in the 1-meter dive (148.30), Lance Thornton (Hastings/Hastings) was eighth in the 50 free (23.23) and John Bakula (Grand Island/Grand Island) was eighth in the 1,650 free (18:54.88).
Elizabeth Hilzen (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) paced the women, finishing seventh in the 400 individual medley (5:15.98) and eighth in the 100 breast (1:16.17). Stacey Jones (Hamburg/Hamburg) was seventh in the 100 fly (1:06.32).
Buffalo State’s next meet is not until Jan. 12 when it will host Morrisville.
