Buffalo State's Perry Taglienti (Depew/Lancaster) and Michael Holbok (Williamsville/St. Joe's) were both selected to the 2004 Don Hansen's Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-East Region Team, with Taglienti garnering Second Team honors, and Holbok receiving Third Team distinction.

Taglienti, a senior linebacker, was second in the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) with 109 tackles, becoming the first Bengals to surpass the 100-tackle plateau since 2000. He was also second on the team with 13 tackles for loss.

Holbok, a senior defensive end, anchored a dominant pass rush as he finished second in the ACFC with nine sacks and totaled 41 tackles, four forced fumbles and three blocked kicks for the season. Holbok was a Second Team selection last season.

The Bengals finished the season with a 4-6 record, matching the school's win total from the previous three seasons combined. Prior to that stretch, Buffalo State ranked among the top Division III programs in the nation, evident by 10-consecutive postseason appearances.
