Take Back the Night, an interactive evening dedicated to survivors of sexual and domestic violence, will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 6:30 to 10:0 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall.
The annual event, sponsored by the Student Life Office, Counseling Center, and Weigel Health Center, is free and open to the public. About 40 students are participating in the student-run production that includes poetry readings, short plays, and musical numbers.
"Take Back the Night is a powerful event that uses theater, music, and art to promote healing for survivors of sexual abuse and violence and gives allies the encouragement to do their part in supporting their peers and preventing sexual violence." said Tammy Kresge, assistant director for health promotions at the Weigel Health Center. Every year about 400 people attend.
