Blog, podcasts, and Wikipedia are just three of the hundreds of new terms today's teachers must understand...and new technology spawns new words almost daily. How can teachers hope to make the most of rapidly evolving computer-based communication in their classrooms?

One way is to attend the upcoming Educational Technology Conference (ETC), presented by the Educational Computing Program at Buffalo State College in conjunction with Erie 1 BOCES. Created by educators for educators, this second annual event gives teachers PreK - 12, administrators, academic librarians and technology professionals a chance to learn about everything from online safety to course management software. This year, ETC 2007 offers three tracks: Internet safety, new trends in technology, and legal and ethical technology issues.

Timothy J. Magner, Director of the Office of Educational Technology for the U.S. Department of Education, will present the keynote speech. Track sessions will be presented by classroom teachers, professors, and technology specialists from various school districts.
