Three Bengals Earn SUNYAC Basketball Honors

FREDONIA, NY--The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2005-06 Basketball All-Conference teams today, and Gregg Jones (Syracuse/Nottingham) and Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) represented Buffalo State on the men's side, and Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) was the lone selection for the women.

Jones was voted Second Team for the second-consecutive season. The senior swingman ranked in the top-five in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.7 points-per-game. A business administration major, Jones finished his career with 798 points in just two seasons.

Mozelle, a sophomore forward, earned Honorable Mention status, averaging 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds-per-game. The individualized studies major was the Bengals' leading scorer in six games and was the top-rebounder 12 times.

Moseley, a junior forward, also earned Honorable Mention distinction on the women's side. A journalism major, Moseley led the Bengals in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.4 points and 8.2 boards-per-game. She was the team's high-scorer 14 times and top-rebounder in 16 of the 26 games.

Buffalo State's men's team finished the season 13-13 overall and 7-9 in SUNYAC play, bowing to top-seeded Cortland, 99-84, in the quarterfinals. The women finished 9-17 overall and 6-10 in league play, falling to No. 2 Oswego, 71-59, in the quarterfinals.
