The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that three Buffalo State soccer players were selected to the 2002 All-Conference honorable mention list. Dave Aselin (Rochester/Gates-Chili) and Stu Hanson (Lincoln, ENGLAND/N. Kesteven) represented the men's team, while Gina Monaco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) was selected from the women's team.

As the lone senior on this year's team, Aselin played in all 18 games for the Bengals. He recorded four goals and two assists for 10 points, placing him second on the team scoring list. During his two year career, Aselin totaled 16 goals and four assists for 36 points.

This was the only season in the black and orange for Hanson, who is an exchange student at Buffalo State. Hanson tallied three goals and two assists for eight points in 16 games as a team leader at midfield.

Monaco, a freshman, led the SUNYAC in total scoring with 45 points, coming on 20 goals, and five assists. Along with leading the SUNYAC, Monaco also broke two Buffalo State records, for most goals in a season, and most points in a season. She is currently in eighth place on the all time leading scorer list for women's soccer.
