Track Athlete Mercedes Roper
Track athlete Mercedes Roper (Buffalo/City Honors) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.
The freshman phenom set a pair of school records on Saturday at the SUNYAC Championships. Roper won the 55m Championship with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.27. She also set a school mark in the 200m dash with a time of 26.59, finishing fourth.
