Track athletes Justin Muise (Kenmore/Kenmore West) and Mercedes Roper (Buffalo/City Honors) were named Buffalo State's Co-Athletes of the Week.

Both athletes represented Buffalo State at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin this past weekend. Muise finished 11th in the nation in the 400-meter dash running a time of 50.22. Roper, a freshman, ran the 12th fastest 55-meter dash time in the country at 7.34. Muise missed All-America status by 1.08 seconds, and Roper fell just short of becoming the first female in school history to earn All-America status in track and field by .11 seconds.

Muise and Roper will join their teammates to kick off the 2004 outdoor season on March 26 and 27 at the Emory University Invitational on the campus of Georgia Tech.
