Twenty-Four Buffalo State Student-Athletes Earn SUNYAC Academic Honors

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Commissioner's List and All-Academic Team today for the Fall 2004 semester, and 24 Buffalo State student-athletes have been recognized for their work in the classroom, with four receiving top honors.

The qualify for the Commissioner's List, the student-athlete must be a varsity athlete, have competed for the entire season, and have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3 for at least three semesters. Student-athletes that earned a 3.3 grade point average for the Fall semester qualified for the All-Academic Team.

The following Buffalo State student-athletes qualified for both the Commissioner's List and the All-Academic Team: Jen Breier (Grand Island)- Volleyball; Brian Miller (Kenmore East) - Soccer; Jeff Sipos (Grand Island) - Cross Country; and Jenny Vacanti (Niagara Wheatfield) - Cross Country).

The following student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team: Matt Caruso (Fayetteville-Manlius) - Cross Country; Lauren Clark (Mt. Mercy) - Volleyball; Molly Dachauer (Depew) - Soccer; Mary Doody (Tully) - Soccer; Randy Haight (Woodcreek, CA) - Soccer; David Hartzell (Clarence) - Cross Country; Clint Holcomb (Victor) - Soccer; Justin Huebbers (Aquinas) - Football; Colleen Ingerto (Sherburne-Earlville) - Soccer; Matthew Ketchum (Churchville-Chili) - Soccer; Bill Kirsch (Attica) - Football; Lindsey Mann (Frontier) - Soccer; Emily McKinnon (Kenmore West) - Soccer; Josh Mitchell (S. Colonie) - Soccer; Jack Mrozinski (Schalmont) - Football; Derek O'Brien (Grand Island) - Soccer; Melisa Petre (Cheektowaga) - Soccer; Matthew Romano (Eden) - Soccer; Matt Tarasek (Hutch Tech) - Football; HT Williams (Christian Brothers) - Football.
