Buffalo State basketball players Gregg Jones (Syracuse/Nottingham) and Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) were both named Second Team All-SUNYAC last night at the conference championship dinner in Utica, NY.

Jones, a junior forward, led the men's team this season averaging 14.5 points-per-game. He was the only Bengal to average double-figures in scoring. A business major, Jones transferred to Buffalo State from Roberts Wesleyan after sitting out for almost two full years rehabbing a serious knee injury.

Brooks, also a junior forward, was the leading scorer in the conference on the women's side, averaging 16.1 points-per-game. She also ranked among the league-leaders with 6.7 rebounds-per-game. A health and wellness major, Brooks moved into 14th on Buffalo State's all-time scoring list with 858 career points.

Both teams were eliminated in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs. The men's team finished the season 10-15 overall and the women were 9-17. It was the first time neither team had a winning record since 1979-80.
