Two Track and Field Records Set at Slippery Rock

Buffalo State's men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Slippery Rock Invitational today, and a pair of school record-setting performances highlighted the meet for the Bengals.

Richard Harris (Rochester/Hilton) won the 110-meter high hurdles and broke shaved more than three-tenths of a second off of his own school record with a time of 14.31. Jenelle Orosz (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) won the high jump and equalled her previous school best, clearing 5'6".

Tim Giagios (Rochester/Gates-Chili) ran two strong races, finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.00) and fifth in the 400-meter dash (51.52). Todd Wassinger (Sanborn/Starpoint) was third in the hammer throw with a distance of 151'10". Shane Reynolds (Richland/Pulaski) placed sixth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 36:34.70. Alton West (Hyattsville, MD/Patuxent) finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 21'6 1/2". Joe Woolley (Amherst/Sweet Home) placed eighth in the triple jump (40' 5 1/4"). Jenny Vacanti (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) added an eighth place finish in the 1,500-meter run, clocking 5:09.98.

Buffalo State will compete at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania next Saturday.
