BUFFALO, NY—For the second consecutive day, Utica (10-6/6-2) used a three-goal third period to defeat host Buffalo State (3-7-3/1-7-2), 3-0, in an ECAC West contest today at the Ice Arena.

After 53 minutes of scoreless play, the Pioneers scored two goals in the span of 15 seconds and added a third less than three minutes later.

Utica outshot Buffalo State, 39-18. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) had 36 saves for the Bengals in the loss.

Buffalo State will play another pair of ECAC West contests at Chatham next Saturday and Sunday.
