Buffalo State completed play at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic today by falling 3-1 against Oswego, before defeating Husson (ME) by a 3-1 score in the afternoon match.

The Bengals fell to Oswego in the morning match, 30-24, 26-30, 6-30 and 22-30. Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) led the Bengals offense with nine kills and freshman Lauren Wright (Westfield/Westfield) recorded 31 assists.

Buffalo State earned its first win of the season in the Silver Bracket consolation game, defeating Husson, 27-30, 30-19, 30-23 and 30-18. Sam Damstetter (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) pounded 18 kills and registered eight digs, and Wright added 37 assists in the win.

Buffalo State is now 1-3 and will open the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday when it hosts Medaille at 7 p.m.
