Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at SUNYAC Pool Play
Buffalo State's playoff hopes were officially dashed today as they dropped a pair of three-game matches to Brockport and Geneseo in the second round of SUNYAC Pool Play at Fredonia.
In the opener, Brockport swept the Bengals, 30-20, 33-31 and 30-17. Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) had 11 kills to lead Buffalo State's office. Sam Damstetter (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) added seven kills and 13 digs. Lauren Wright (Westfield/Westfield) chipped in 22 assists.
In the second match, Geneseo downed Buffalo State, 30-22, 30-18 and 30-20. Keri Bumgardner (Babylon/W. Babylon) registered nine kills and four blocks for the Bengals. Wright added 25 assists, and Damstetter had 15 digs.
Buffalo State fell to 5-22 overall and 1-5 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will finish the conference schedule tomorrow with matches against Oswego and Fredonia.
