Volleyball Drops Two to Open Carnegie Mellon Invitational

Buffalo State lost two matches on the first day of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational today, as the fell to Allegheny in three games, and lost to Gettysburg in four games.

In the opening match, Allegheny defeated the Bengals 30-13, 30-22 and 30-18. Lauren Wright (Westfield/Westfield) recorded 17 assists and seven digs.

Gettysburg topped Buffalo State in the nightcap, 30-21, 30-9, 28-30 and 30-19. Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) led the Bengals with eight kills and eight blocks, and Wright added 25 assists.

Buffalo State fell to 6-26 and will wrap up the season tomorrow in the final day of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
