Volleyball player Krista Wierzbicki (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was named Buffalo State's Athlete of the Week.

The senior setter led Buffalo State to three consecutive victories to open the week, and a berth in the Gold Medal Bracket at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic. After recording 18 assists and five aces against Hilbert on Tuesday, she registered 27 assists in a 3-1 win over St. Michael's and 31 assists in a 3-1 win over St. Lawrence. Wierzbicki was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the Cortland All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year.
