What's Good About Greeks
Four Buffalo State Greek organizations participated in a community service project with New Generation Ministries at 1330 Niagara Street on Saturday, April 6.
Fraternities Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Kappa Tau, and Gamma Theta Phi and sorority Sigma Delta Tau cleaned up the lot next door to the church, according to Hector D. Gil, Assistant Director of Student Life at Buffalo State. Dominic Bonifacio, Buffalo Common Council member from the Niagara District, supplied equipment and supplies for the cleanup. Pastor Ron Moore of New Generation Ministries plans to use the lot for church-related activities.
Gil, who oversees the fraternities and sororities at Buffalo State College, is coordinating a series of Student Life programs to support the positive activities of fraternities and sororities on campus. An earlier program educated participants in ways to prevent and solve problems related to alcohol and drug abuse.
