William Wieczorek, director of the Center for Health and Social Research (CHSR), is among 40 professionals from health-related and safety-net organizations to be selected as a member of the fourth class of the Health Leadership Fellows program. The program is sponsored by the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York, which is an independent private foundation whose mission is to improve the health and health care of the people of Western and Central New York.

“I’m honored to be part of the fourth Health Leadership Fellows program,” said Wieczorek. “This leadership program will help us at CHSR to better network with health-care providers and prevention-service professionals as part of a system focused on enhancing the health of all Western New Yorkers.”

The 18-month program includes four to five retreats, sessions of leadership and communication, executive coaching, and the opportunity to develop a collaborative inter-organizational project. The fellows were chosen based on criteria including leadership ability and the benefit of the program to the applicant’s organization and community.

In announcing the fellows, Ann F. Monroe, president of the foundation, said, “Through the Health Leadership Fellows program, we can bring leaders from all facets of the health care and human services community together to learn collaboratively, share best practices and develop new and innovative ways to improve the health of the people living in our region.”
