Wierzbicki, Manos Earn All-Tourney Honors at North Country
Buffalo State volleyball players, Krista Wierzbicki (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) and Vicky Manos (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga), were named to the North Country Invitational All-Tournament Team this weekend, after helping the Bengals advance to the championship match, before falling to the host school Clarkson.
Wierzbicki led all players in the tournament with 194 assists in five matches. She also recorded 76 digs and 12 service aces. Wierzbicki earned a similar honor last week at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic. Manos paced the BengalsÂ’ offense with 87 kills, and added 54 digs, 13 blocks and 11 service aces.
Buffalo State posted victories over Hartwick, St. Lawrence and Plattsburgh, and lost a pair of matches to Clarkson. The Bengals are currently 6-9 on the season.
