William Smith Downs Women's Swimming and Diving
BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State’s women’s swimming and diving team competed for the second time in two days and was defeated by William Smith, 132-76, today at Kissinger Pool.
Elisabeth Hilzen (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) paced the Bengals, winning the 200-yard individual medley in 2:29.33 and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:41.52. Stacey Jones (Hamburg/Hamburg) posted a first and second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.29) and 200-yard butterfly (2:42.53), respectively. Sarah Green (N. Tonawanda/Starpoint) and Miranda Warner (Elmira/Horseheads) also performed well for Buffalo State, as Green took second in the 200-yard IM in 2:31.92, while Warner was runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:29.13. The 200-yard medley relay team of Warner, Hilzen, Jones and Green also finished second with a time of 2:00.21.
Buffalo State swimming and diving will return to action on Friday when both teams travel to Pitt-Bradford for a 6 p.m. meet.
