Williams Named Football Scholar-Athlete
Buffalo State's HT Williams (Syracuse/Christian Brothers) is one of three local college football players that have been named as the 2004 WNY College Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Western New York Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Williams, a senior receiver, completed his bachelor's degree in economics and finance last may with a cumulative grade point average 2.99, and took additional courses in investment finance this semester. A three-year starter at wide receiver, he caught 60 passes for 863 yards and five career touchdowns.
Williams will be honored at the Foundation's annual season-ending awards banquet on December 8 at Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant in Blasdell, along with two other area collegiate players three high school football scholar-athletes from the area.
