Women's Basketball Downs Geneseo, 72-66
Jacey Brooks (Machais/Franklinville) led Buffalo State (12-11/10-4) with 21 points as the Bengals defeated Geneseo (16-8/10-5), 72-66, in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.
Buffalo State held a 34-31 advantage at halftime, and the Bengals never relinquished the lead in the second stanza en route to the nine-point victory. Bufalo State shot 48-percent from the field, and the Blue Knights shot 46-percent.
Brooks complimented her 21 points with nine rebounds. Monique Hanks (Liverpool/Liverpool) scored 16 points and had four steals. Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Jessica Chambers (Oneida/Oneida) led the Blue Knights with 22 points. Arin Belden (Warsaw/Warsaw) added 14 points and five assists.
Buffalo State will travel to Oswego on Friday night for a 6 p.m. tip-off. Geneseo will wrap up its regular season on Friday at Cortland at 6 p.m.
