Women's Basketball Falls to St. John Fisher, 79-63
Buffalo State suffered its first loss of the season tonight at St. John Fisher, falling 79-63.
The Bengals led by 10 points in the first half, but St. John Fisher went on a 9-0 run over the final 1:27 of the opening period, and then opened the second half with a 15-3 spurt. Buffalo State closed the gap to seven on three different occasions, but never got any closer.
Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool), Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo/Christian Central) and Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) provided nearly all of the Bengals' offense. Moseley led the way with 19 points and eight rebounds. Slaughter tallied 18 points and four steals. Brooks added 17 points and eight rebounds. The rest of the team combined for just nine points.
Buffalo State fell to 2-1 on the season. The Bengals will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Ithaca.
