Junior forward Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) scored 29 points and had 12 rebounds, but Buffalo State lost to Kean (NJ), 81-69, tonight at the Moravian Winter Classic in Bethlehem, Pa.

Buffalo State trailed 42-31 at halftime and never came closer than six points the rest of the way. The Bengals were outrebounded 60-52, including 27-15 on the offensive glass, and could not overcome 31 turnovers.

Brooks registered her fourth career double-double, shooting 9-of-26 from the field and hitting all nine of her free throws. The 29-point performance comes one game after scoring a career-high 31 points in last week's win over Centre. Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) each added 11 points for Buffalo State.

The loss drops the Bengals to 3-6. Buffalo State will play the loser of Moravian and Rosemont in tomorrow's consolation game at 1 p.m.
