Women's basketball player Monique Hanks (Liverpool) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.

The senior guard scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 77-64 loss to No. 17 St. John Fisher last Tuesday. It was Hanks' second double-double of the season as she is averaging 11.0 points and 10.7 rebounds-per-contest through three games this season. Hanks is looking to become just the second player in school history to score 1,000 career points and record 500 career rebounds. She currently has 829 points and 470 rebounds.
