Women’s Basketball Season Ends at Brockport
BROCKPORT, NY—No. 8 Buffalo State (10-16) saw its season come to a close tonight with a 69-43 defeat at top-seeded Brockport (22-4) as the Golden Eagles shot 47-percent from 3-point territory in a SUNYAC Quarterfinal game at Tuttle North Gymnasium.
Toya Parks (Brooklyn/ MLK) led the Bengals with 13 points and added five rebounds, and Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/ Strong Vincent) had 10 points.
The Golden Eagles used a 22-4 run in the middle of the first half to double up the Bengals 36-18 at the intermission. Brockport continued to pull away in the second half to post the 26-point win. The Golden Eagles dominated nearly every statistical category, outrebounding the Bengals 46-29, and outscoring Buffalo State 21-3 from 3-point range. Brockport shot 48-percent for the game, compared to 25-percent shooting by the Bengals.
