Women's Basketball Season Ends at Oswego, 71-59

OSWEGO, NY--Seventh-seeded Buffalo State's (9-17) season came to an end tonight at No. 2 Oswego (19-6), 71-59, in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals.

Oswego jumped out to a 36-23 halftime lead, and ballooned the advantage to as many as 22 in the second half before the Bengals mounted a late rally. Buffalo State used a 19-4 run to close the deficit to just seven at 64-57 with 33 seconds remaining, but Oswego's Kelly Mraz was 7 of 8 from the free thow line in the closing seconds to ice the win.

Mraz finished with a team-high 14 points and had seven assists and five steals. Lacey Kimpland added 11 points and Sarah Lombard added nine.

Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) led Buffalo State with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Cat Ejimadu (Buffalo/Bennett) had a career-high 15 points and dished out five assists. Gina Apa (Buffalo/McKinley) and Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) each scored nine.
