Women's diver Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week for the third time.

The freshman became the first Buffalo State women's diver ever to win a SUNYAC Championship, accomplishing the feat twice. Rutkowski captured the three-meter title on Thursday and claimed the one-meter crown on Saturday. She was also named the "Most Outstanding Diver" in the conference.

Rutkowski will now wait for the NCAA to review her tapes to see if she will be chosen to compete at the national championships at Hope College in Holland, Mich. on March 10-12. If selected, she will attempt to become the first Buffalo State swimmer or diver to earn All-America honors since diver Judy Elliott in 1981.
