ASTON, Pa.—Meghan Herald (Tonawanda/ Kenmore East) scored twice as Buffalo State (2-2/1-2) defeated host Neumann, 4-2, in an ECAC West contest today at the Ice Works Arena.

Neumann opened the scoring early in the first period, before Herald evened the score later in the frame with a shorthanded tally. After a scoreless second, Jessica Thieme (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) gave the Bengals a lead they would not relinquish early in the third period. Kristin Bozek (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) extended the Bengals lead with another shorthanded goal, and then Herald added an insurance marker in the closing minutes.

Buffalo State outshot the Knights, 38-36. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) made 34 saves, including one on a penalty shot.

The same two team will face off again tomorrow outside Philadelphia at 2 p.m.
