Women's Hockey Edges Out UMass Amherst, 2-1
Buffalo State edged out UMass Amherst (club), 2-1, at the Buffalo State Ice Arena in an exhibition game earlier this evening.
Sarah Kelly (Portland, ME/Titlton School) and Tara Ostempowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) each scored in the first period to give Buffalo State a 2-0 lead. UMass Amherst found the back of the net early in the second period, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Bengals out shot UMass 21-9.
Buffalo State will face UMass Amherst tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Ice Arena.
