Women's Hockey Loses to Etobicoke Jr. AA
BUFFALO, NY--Buffalo State scored late in the third period but couldn’t overcome an early deficit, falling by a score of 3-1 to the Etobicoke Dolphins Jr. AA team in an exhibition contest tonight at the Ice Arena.
The Dolphins scored two goals in the first period, including a power-play marker in the eighth minute and would score again midway through the second. Jessica Thieme (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) recorded the Bengals only goal of the game and the team’s first goal of the season at the 14:11 mark of the third period, assisted by Kristin Bozek (Buffalo/Hutch Tech). Buffalo State was 0 for 5 with the player advantage.
Etobicoke outshot Buffalo State, 29-23. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) had 26 saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will host Hamilton Jr. AA tomorrow in another exhibition game at 2 p.m.
