Women's Hockey Opens With Loss to Bluewater
BUFFALO, NY--Buffalo State opened its 2007-08 season today with an exhibition contest against the Bluewater Hawks Jr. AA team at the Ice Arena, falling by a 3-0 count.
The Hawks opened the scoring with a power-play goal midway through the first period and scored twice more in the second to seal the victory. Bluewater finished 2 for 6 on the power play. Buffalo State was 0 for 5 with the player advantage.
Bluewater outshot Buffalo State, 44-19. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) made 41 saves to keep the Bengals in the game.
Buffalo State will next host Etobicoke Jr. AA next Saturday in another exhibition game at 7 p.m.
